Continuing our celebration of Beatrix Potter (1866-1943) Mycologist and Author, and marking an important event in the life of Marine Biologist Isabella Gordon ( 1901- 1988) when she took part in the 60th Birthday Festivities for Emperor Hirohito in Japan, 60 years ago!
We have 6 x Tuesday sessions at 6.30pm and a number of special events.

- SPECIAL EVENT Wed 10th November at 3.30pm: The results of the Beatrix Potter Song Competition will be announced by Master of the Queen’s Music, Judith Weir. We hope you will come along to join in the chorus of “Patient Miss Potter“!

- SPECIAL EVENT Thur 18th Nov, 4pm Marine Biological Association Isabella and the Emperor – A British Sign Language interpreted celebration of Marine Biologist Isabella Gordon (1901-1988) and the 60th Anniversary of her trailblazing visit to Japan to meet fellow scientist Emperor Hirohito in honour of his 60th birthday.

We discussed what music we’d like to use for the story of Marine Biologist Isabella Gordon – including choral work by composer Shena Fraser – but things worked out very differently!!!!!
